PIMA COUNTY - A woman walking her dog discovered a body in the desert Friday afternoon.

Deputies say the woman pointed them to a location on South Postvale Road, just north of Ajo Highway. She told deputies that she was walking her dog with her kids.

She said the dog ran off into the desert and discovered the scene.

Upon initial assessment, deputies found what had appeared to be a human body wrapped in a blanket just east of the roadway in the desert area.

Detectives with the Sheriff's Homicide Unit were called out to take over the investigation. Once the cloth around the body was removed, detectives discovered the body of an unidentified adult male individual. Decomposition had begun to set in indicating that the deceased had been out in the elements for a while.
