Woman robbed in convenience store parking lot

TUCSON - A purse-snatching incident at a convenience store on the northwest side has authorities asking the public for help.

It happened April 14 around 1:30 in the mornng. A woman tells Pima County Sheriff's deputies she was at the Circle K at 5365 North La Cholla, waiting for her daughter to come pick her up.

The woman says she'd called her daughter because she had been drinking. Before her daughter arrived, the woman says a car pulled up and a man approached her.

She says they had a brief conversation and then the man grabbed her purse and ran off to the getaway car, which sped off southbound on La Cholla.

Detectives with the Sheriff's Robbery/Assault division reviewed surveillance footage and then put out a call for help from the public, hoping someone will recognize the suspect and the getaway car.

It was possibly an older model, white Honda Civic wagon. The suspect is described as a man with a light complexion; he was wearing a dark gray or black shirt, black pants and a black baseball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
