TUCSON - Tucson records 17th triple digit day as the peak of this week's heat hits this afternoon.
Tucson topped 107 degrees at the airport today, 7 degrees above the norm for June 10. High pressure parked right on top of the state is supplying the heat and a little added moisture as cumulus clouds develop across Southeast Arizona.
The atmosphere is too stable to get much rain out of these clouds but some parts of Cochise County may experience some gusty winds through this evening.
The afternoon winds crank back up heading into Wednesday afternoon as a weak weather disturbance passes by to our north. Expect gusts up to 30mph combined with another round of daytime highs near 104 degrees.
Tropical Storm Cristina in the Eastern Pacific will send a boost of moisture our way by the end of the week with a few dry mountain thunderstorms possible on Friday afternoon.
Triple digit highs will continue through Father's Day weekend as we hover between 100-105 degrees. Follow your True View 4 forecast here.
