TUCSON - Ilaria Easom was 3 years old when she was diagnosed with Yolk Sac Germ Cell cancer. Ilaria underwent chemotherapy at University Medical Center, homeopathic treatment through her pediatrician, and major surgery at Tucson Medical Center.
Ilaria, now 11 years old, is in remission, although she is left with chemotherapy-induced hearing loss for life. Her main cancer treatment is complete, but she will continue with additional tests and procedures for several more years.
Ilaria's Parents, Colin & Lina Easom, as well as Ilaria have teamed up with a local charity, Tee Up For Tots and Patricia Matthews and Rosemary Bietendorf of Open Floor Studio to organize a Zumbathon, fitness-themed fundraiser called Dance Happy.
On May 18th, 2014 the two ladies, along with 33 other local Zumba® Instructors, will donate their time and expertise to lead nearly 400 people at a huge Zumbathon at the Jewish Community Center from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
75% of ticket sales go to the charity.
Tickets to the #DanceHappy event are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Contact the Open Floor Studio, LLC owners at (520) 360-0320 or (520) 262-9083 for more information and tickets.
