TUCSON - Two suspicious packages closed Oracle for several hours today and forced evacuations at the Department of Homeland Security's field office.
It started about noon when an employee in the DHS building called Tucson Police Department, reporting a suspicious box.
When TPD arrived, they found a second one. They secured the area, closing north and southbound traffic between River Rd. and Auto Mall Drive.
The package was found outside the building, was detonated at around 3 p.m, and according to police, was found to be non-explosive.
The second package, found inside the building, was determined to not contain any hazardous material.
Police are now trying to determine if the two packages are connected.
