Posted 5:46 PM 9/13/2012 : Deputies continue to search for serial burglary suspect

TUCSON - His name is Thomas Domagala, and detectives say he's targeting homes from the Tucson Mountains all the way to the northeast side of town. Investigators say there's no rhyme or reason to his "MO."

But they do know this: "We believe he is armed and he poses a significant risk to the community," said Captain Chris Nanos with the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

That's why PCSD is alerting the community, in hopes of getting information that will lead to his capture. Detectives say in August, he hit a gated area on the northeast side.

"One house was robbed and I believe a car was stolen," Captain Nanos said.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the vehicle, and detectives say Domagala left evidence at the crime scene that connects him to the burglary.

Also, a man fitting his description was seen in the area. As soon as that happened, resident Kari Akers began taking precautions.

"We had a security alarm come out and put a security system in our house," she said. She's also making sure all the doors are locked, and she's putting her children on alert, "and just telling our kids to be mindful of anybody on the street or anything that is strange."

All excellent tips, said Capt. Nanos, as they search for Domagala.

"He has come into these homes at various times of day and night with forced entry or unforced entry, stolen vehicles, stolen property," Captain Nanos said. Deputies have information that Domagala may be tied into the meth world.
