Posted 10:06 AM 9/12/2013 : Slight thunder threat today, big heat next week
TUCSON - Last call for Monsoon storms over the next 72 hours.
Enough moisture lingers to warrant a slight chance of isolated storms this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Odds favor the metro staying dry, but a storm or two can't be ruled out. Best chance for storms today will be near the New Mexico state line.
Expect another slight chance of storms tomorrow and Saturday.
High pressure builds off the Baja coast next week, scouring out any remaining Monsoon moisture. The net result for southern Arizona is mostly sunny skies starting Sunday and highs flirting with triple digits in Tucson.
