Posted 7:28 AM 11/7/2012 : From Fall to Winter in 72 hours
TUCSON - The perfect stretch of weather will soon come to an end.
Daytime highs this afternoon reach the upper 80's, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This is thanks to a departing area of high pressure over the Four Corners. Expect sunny skies today, with increasing cloud cover overnight.
A strong cold front advances into the state the next 72 hours. Gusty winds up to 30 MPH and isolated showers are possible starting Friday morning. Saturday appears to have the best chance of scattered showers and snow above 7,000 feet. A few lingering showers may stick around Sunday as the front moves into New Mexico.
Much colder temps accompany the valley rain and mountain snow. High temps this weekend struggle to reach the 60's, which is roughly 25-30 degrees cooler than today's forecast high. Overnight lows Saturday and Sunday drop below freezing over much of Santa Cruz & Cochise Counties.
