TUCSON - Marisco's Chihuahua on S 6th avenue received 8 critical violations.
An employee was observed wiping his mouth with his bare hand and then started to peel raw shrimp without washing his hands. Several raw foods were stored above ready-to-eat foods. Plus, a stinky dried-on buildup was on the scoop stored inside the uncovered sugar bin. There was food in the refrigerator without a use-by-date. And a spray bottle labeled for degreaser had window cleaner in it.
Marisco's Chihuahua on South 6th Ave. is now operating on a provisional license. And will be re-inspected within 10 days. We'll let you know how they do.
Sonic Drive-In on W Orange Grove received 2 critical violations.
Cooked chicken was being stored at an unsafe temperature and tongs stored as clean had encrusted food debris on them.
Sonic Drive-In on Orange Grove received a "Needs Improvement" rating.
We told you 2 weeks ago about Las Margaritas on Oracle receiving a "Needs Improvement" rating after roaches were found all throughout the grill, bar and server area.
The issue has been corrected. So Las Margaritas on Oracle passed its re-inspection.
Panda Express on Oracle, Eat-a-Pita on E University and Famous Dave's on Oracle all received an "Excellent" rating.
