Posted 6:10 PM 6/5/2013 : The heat is coming back
TUCSON - Wednesday's high of 101 in Tucson was a bit above our average high of 98 for this time of year, but not by much.
As high pressure strengthens over the desert Southwest, we can expect much hotter temperatures to follow.
I am expecting the mercury to climb to 107 by Friday, so the real June heat is back.
Meanwhile, there are some good signs of the monsoon developing over New Mexico.
Enough moisture should be available in the White Mountains for at least a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm by Thursday and Friday.
