TUCSON - Businesses along Park Avenue just south of Speedway Boulevard will be shutting their doors soon.

The Marshall Foundation recently sold the property to a developer who is building a 13 story complex geared toward University of Arizona students, the building will feature apartments, retail venues and a parking garage.

Jesus Limon has owned and operated Kampus Kuts for 23 years, he'll be shutting his doors in two weeks, "I'm going miss all my customers which are my friends. Most of my customers are friends. You cut their hair for a little while so they become good friends."

Limon is now considering retirement, "I still have professors which I've been cutting their hair for 30 years and they're still coming. They retire from the university but they're still coming to get their haircut here," he said.

It's a much different story though for Emily Brown who owns Posner's Art Store. She said the family owned business made the decision to relocate to University Boulevard when they heard the building would be sold, "I was just panicked. I was hysterical because we didn't know where we were going to go. We were doing back to school. And that's our Christmas basically."

Brown said business at the new location has been great since they moved in August,"We've been here long enough that people know us. They know what we have. We'll order things for them. Framing. We're pretty complete. And so they stuck by us which was really nice."

Chicago-based Campus Acquisitions said the student housing project will be complete and ready to open in the Fall 2014.
