TUCSON - While the northeast contends with a Blizzard of historical proportions, It's been a showery day of weather across our area. These showers are due to an area of low pressure spinning over Baja California. The heaviest rain has been in the deserts west of Tucson, while the rest of us have only seen isolated showers. This disturbance will continue to weaken tonight with only a few widely scattered showers. We see a break from the rain Tuesday through Thursday and temperatures will be in the 70s under mostly sunny skies. The next weather maker should arrive late Thursday or early Friday and could linger through much of the Super Bowl weekend. While the exact timing and impacts are still being fine-tuned, the potential for a long-lasting rain event exists for much of the weekend.
