TUCSON - It may be the last of the 90s for the year, but the next 72 hours are going to be very warm across the Desert Southwest. High pressure is building into the region and temperatures will soar close to 10 degrees above average from Thursday through Saturday. This heat will provide nearly record breaking temperatures, as highs approach the mid 90s for Tucson and the rest of the warmest spots under sunny skies. The heat will end by Sunday and temperatures will return back to seasonal averages by the first part of next work week. Highs will then top off into the low to mid 80s, with lows in the mid 50s.
